*a small selection from a skull packed with ideas.
One of Ireland's leading specialist insurance companies, Hiscox Ireland has continued the global brand's brave approach to advertising - giving me great freedom to 'let loose' with some fun copywriting and design across digital, video, print and OOH. The brand is well known in other countries for their eye catching output, so it was a thrill to be put in charge of reaching out to Irish customers knowing the brand had the liathróidí to try something most in the industry wouldn't. Below is a sample of copywriting and ad executions across multiple platforms - Cork (Dublin) Airport's 'mistake' & our Golf sponsorship being particular highlights!
The brief was to update Mark Pollock's social content, which lacked the professionalism which his speeches and masterclasses are known for. I built on his existing library of inspirational quotes, adding a cleaner design, a new logo incorporating his speaking abilities, some 'guest' quotes, all while staying within the overall brand kit.
Brief: make the copy snappier and conceive a new tagline for all events. "Run, for those who dream to walk" is now the Run's M.O. (it raises funds fo paralysis) and was well received by all stakeholders.
Brief: Bring the website into the 2020s. Using the new branding, and icon, we stripped back the landing page and added a video background to bring life to a previously dead site.
A new, simpler 'icon' option was required for the digital activity of the brand. Previously, they relied on a logo that did not size-down. We took the existing 'D', incorporated a runner & crescent moon to hint at the night-time element of run. A runner-free version is planned for merch.
Brief: "A fun day out". Our selected fonts & colours sat nicely on this outdoor image. "Get Away. At Home" the chosen copy for the landing page.
Simple, Concise, Clear.
Brief: a glamping-at-home experience, targeting those who enjoy boutique camping. After many iterations, client loved mint-pastel, with stylish script.
We added cerise pink to the palette, allowing for options across more backgrounds and prints. "Party Under The Stars" was chosen as logo tagline, with stars above the stylised tent to complete the imagery.
Brief: Catch The Eye. Sizers is an Irish company that makes shoe inserts, to customise the size and fit of footwear. They enjoyed an award winning launch and initial huge sales - but aim to revitalise their market with an eye catching campaign.
Weddings are the next target market for Sizers, and so we wanted to play on some typical Nuptial-related copy for this campaign.
Aimed at the Staycation market, this manipulation of the WAW Signature Points, aims to bring some Irish humour to the campaign, and mimic what local tourists might say when first visiting Irish sites they'd never have seen before.
A tongue-in-cheek ad targeting the overseas market, playing on the contrast between the beauty of certain locations (e.g. Donegal) and how people emigrated from there decades/centuries ago.
NibblBox give you all you need to make sweets at home, so "Home. Sweets. Home." & "Kitchen, Meet Candystore" really hit the spot.
Working with a colleague, this logo was designed to inspire youthful memories - using strong colour choices and a fun, swirling splash of brightness.
This highly stylised campaign was based on four (of the 2187) photos I took on my last trip to Japan. Showcasing the land's most famous sites, using Instagram filters, and some clean, sharp script & text.
